CC0 1.0 Universal (CC0 1.0) Public Domain Dedication ==================================================== The environmental observations published by swelter — the contents of the SQLite/Parquet store, the CSV and JSON exports, the OGC SensorThings responses, and the aggregated heat-island / AQI surfaces — are dedicated to the public domain under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication. To the extent possible under law, Chelsea Kelly-Reif and the contributing hosting collectives have waived all copyright and related or neighboring rights to these observations. You can copy, modify, distribute, and use the data, including for commercial purposes, all without asking permission. The full legal text of the dedication is available at: https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/legalcode A human-readable summary (not a substitute for the legal text) is at: https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/ Scope and intent ---------------- * This dedication covers the OBSERVATION DATA only. The swelter source code is licensed separately under the Apache License, Version 2.0 (see LICENSE). * The data is published open by default and exported through open standards so that anyone — a resident, a reporter, a researcher — can audit, reuse, or fork it, and so a community can leave with its data and stand the network up elsewhere with no lock-in. * The observations are aggregate environmental measurements only. They contain no personal information and no field capable of locating a person. Node locations are published snapped to a coarse grid unless a host opts in to a precise location (see docs/governance.md). * Attribution is not legally required, but is appreciated: "Environmental data from the swelter community sensing network." No warranty ----------- The data is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. Low-cost sensor readings carry uncertainty; each value travels with its calibration state and, when calibrated, a published uncertainty. Consult docs/calibration.md before relying on a value, and treat readings flagged provisional accordingly.
