Queer Frame support
Queer Frame for iPhone. Last updated 2026-10-02.
Queer Frame is a guide to queer TV. Look up a show to see whether it's worth watching, whether a queer character dies (hidden until you choose to see it), its tropes and content notes, where to stream it, and when the next episode airs. It needs no account and collects nothing about you.
Where the data comes from
Show and character data comes from LezWatch.TV, a volunteer-run database of queer female, non-binary and transgender characters. Episode schedules come from TVmaze. The app bundles a copy so it works offline, and it checks for a newer copy when you open it, when you pull to refresh, and when you return to it while its data is more than 3 days old (at most once every 6 hours). The About screen shows the date of the data you have.
"Not recorded." Does that mean she lives?
Not necessarily. LezWatch.TV records deaths, not survival, so Queer Frame only says what the record says: "Not recorded" means the snapshot has no death on record, not that the character survives. When a character appears in several shows, the record doesn't say which show the death happens in, and the app tells you so.
"Schedule unknown"
The show isn't matched to a TVmaze listing, so the app has no episode schedule for it. That is different from "No upcoming episode is known", which means TVmaze has the show and lists nothing upcoming.
Something in the data is wrong or missing
Corrections are best made at the source, so everyone benefits. For shows and characters, use LezWatch.TV's Contact Us page or the suggest-an-edit link on the show or character page. For episode schedules, see TVmaze. Queer Frame picks up changes within a day or so of the source making them.
Favorites
Favorites are stored on your device only, and deleting the app deletes them. There is no account, so there is nothing to sign in to. Two things bring them back:
- Your device backup. Favorites are part of the app's data in your iCloud or computer backup, so restoring a backup restores them.
- A backup file. In Favorites, tap the … menu at the top, then Export favorites, and save the file somewhere you keep things (Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop to another device). On the new device, tap the same menu, then Import favorites, and pick that file. Import adds to what is already there. A show or character that is no longer in the app's data is skipped, and the app says how many.
"This data is out of date"
The app's data is rebuilt every night. If what the app holds is more than two days old, because the nightly update has not run or your device has not been able to fetch it, the app says so at the top of Search and Favorites, and shows how old the data is. The app looks for new data each time it opens, and when you return to it while its data is more than 3 days old (at most once every 6 hours). Pull down on Search to check for new data. If the app says the data's age is unknown, the date and time on your device may be wrong: check them in Settings.
